MAKEUP

Foundation Matching

Always test foundation on your jawline and check it in the daylight. Never test on you hand as it will never be the same colour as your face!

Setting Your Makeup

The result of any makeup product largely depends on the applicator and this is especially true for powders. Always use the fluffiest brush you can find to put your powder on for best results.

Clean Your Brushes

Unclean brushes are breeding grounds for bacteria and makeup residues impact their performance as well. Clean them with baby shampoo at least once a week and allow to air dry.

Do Your Makeup Under Natural Light

Try to do your makeup in as much natural light as possible. Makeup looks different under different artificial lights. It is only in natural light, that you can understand the real deal.

Revive Your Dry Mascara

Add one or two drops of Visine or other eye drops, to your tube of mascara and rub the wand around the inside to mix it through. The Visine will soften the product and make it much easier to apply.

Lock It In With Eye-shadow

Use an eyeshadow of the same shade as your eyeliner, to set the liner in place.

Make Your Eye-shadow Pop

The trick to making your eye shadow pop is a white base. With a white eye pencil, apply it all over your lid, then apply your eye shadow over it.  It will appear more vibrant and it will last longer as the eyeliner will act as a base/primer.

Keep Eye-shadow From Creasing

Eliminate as much oil as possible, from your lids. Use an eye shadow base or pressed powder before applying colour. Looser, more powdery shadows are best.

SKIN

Fix Dry Skin

Although daily moisturiser is important, the best time to apply is at night also, when your skin naturally repairs itself. Try an intense moisturiser for best results.

Fix Oily Skin

Carry a pack of blotting paper with you. It’s inexpensive and pocket size, making it handy as well as effective.

Apply a clay or mud mask once a week. This reduces oiliness, helps tone your skin and draws out impurities.

Soften Dry Lips

Use a soft toothbrush to exfoliate your lips. This will gently and effectively remove the skin, leaving your lips soft and fresh, a perfect canvas for your lipstick!

Treating a Pimple

Tea Tree Oil is an essential oil that contains anti-inflammatory properties that can make the redness and size of a pimple, less noticeable. Simply apply some tea tree oil with a cotton bud, directly on the pimple as needed.

Witch Hazel is a plant that’s often used as an astringent, meaning that is temporarily tones the skin. Soak a cotton bud with witch hazel and apply and hold on the blemish for about one minute or use as an all over toner before moisturising.

DIY BB Cream

Simply mix your favourite foundation with your moisturiser. Test on your hand until you get a nice creamy consistency. A much lighter look for the day and great for work too!

EYES

Instant Eye Lift

For an instant lift in the eyes, use your highlighter just above the arch of your brows and blend it out. It will not only define your eyebrows perfectly, but also have a dramatic impact on the appearance of your entire face.

Reduce Puffy Eyes

• Keep hydrated and avoid substances like caffeine and alcohol.

• Apply a cool compress, like sliced cucumber or a cold face washer, for 15 minutes.

• Take two to three drops of almond oil, gently apply it under your eye and massage the area lightly with your ring finger, before going to bed.

NAILS

Strengthen Your Nails

• Keep your nails shorter, rather than long

• Apply a good quality hand cream before bed

•  Avoid alcohol-based hand sanitizer

•  Wear gloves when cleaning
